Figure 6. Molave Lagoon and Park at the cloverleaf intersection of the Grand X Boulevard. Located at the center of the New Town of Borongan City, it is also the geographical center of the city. A man made lagoon with thousands of molave trees around it, it consists of four parts, or leaves of the cloverleaf intersection interconnected at the bottom, collecting water from the reservoirs and distributing them to the hundreds of kilometers of canals all over the city for eventul use. The lagoon, the canals and reservoirs of Borongan contain millions of galons of fresh water at any given time insuring that the city will never get thirsty even during the longest and driest visits of El Nino. |
